About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team in Bucharest, Romania. This role involves delivering high-performance e-trading and risk platforms, designing and enhancing Java-based solutions within complex financial technology environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance Java components
• Analyze and modernize existing systems
• Support performance improvements
• Contribute to code quality through testing, reviews, and engineering best practices
• Collaborate with technical leads, engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders

Requirements

Necessary:

• Strong hands-on Core Java development experience
• Experience developing applications using Spring / Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices
• Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, JVM fundamentals (Memory Management, Garbage Collection)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with varied databases
• Experience with messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, JMS, or similar)
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including Agile delivery, source control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and testing practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Curiosity for emerging technologies and a keen interest in Capital Markets Technology

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of distributed systems, scalable application design, and application performance
• Exposure to reactive programming frameworks such as Spring WebFlux or Reactor
• Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Capital Markets experience, particularly within eTrading or Risk platforms
• Academic degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline
