Senior Java Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our team in Makati City, Philippines. The primary function of this role is to create, develop, and support advanced business applications within the Wholesale Lending line of business at ING.

Responsibilities

• Technical Ownership: Design, change, security, and risk management for mission-critical systems.
• Technical Leadership: Spearhead changes in the team, create better ways of working, and develop tools and systems.
• Stakeholder Management: Balance the delivery of new features with the stability and risk of the technical infrastructure.
• Individual Contribution: Write code and tests for the system.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java: Minimum Java 8.
• Spring Boot and Spring Framework: Proficient level knowledge.
• RDBMS: Proficient level knowledge.
• Microservice Architecture: Proficient level knowledge.
• Event-Driven Architecture: Proficient level knowledge.
• Technical Design Principles and Patterns: Proficient level knowledge.
• CI/CD Tools: Competent level knowledge.
• Secure Design and Coding: Proficient level knowledge.

Nice to Have

• Comfort in spearheading technical changes.
• Proficiency in conducting technical discussions with architects, engineers, and business line stakeholders.
• Emphasis on risk, stability, and security management.
