About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team at SGS, the global leader in inspection, verification, testing, and certification services. As a Senior Lab Technician, you will prepare samples with accuracy and precision, ensuring quality and safety in accordance with SGS’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Responsibilities

Prepare samples with accuracy and precision according to SGS’ SOPs.
Work independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets.
Sequence and load samples onto instruments and perform basic instrument operation.
Train Lab Associates and Technicians.
Ensure best quality through adherence to all policies, procedures, and quality verifications.
Follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a safe working environment.
Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
May assist with validation and MDL studies.
Input and maintain technical information as needed to support laboratory functions/operations.
May conduct non-interpretive sample analysis and draft analytical reports.
Monitor inventory levels of chemicals and consumables.
Ensure all chemicals are labeled appropriately and safety precautions are followed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent - Required
Prior general working experience - Required
2-3 years of relevant laboratory experience - Required
Associates Degree in Chemistry or similar scientific discipline - Preferred
4-5 years of relevant laboratory experience

Nice to Have

Experience with validation and MDL studies
Experience with non-interpretive sample analysis and drafting analytical reports
