About the Role

The LeoVegas Mobile Gaming Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Legal Counsel focused on privacy, to join our dynamic and growing Privacy team. This is a pivotal role within the organisation, instrumental in safeguarding the personal data of our customers and employees, and ensuring robust data protection practices across our diverse brands, entities, and markets.


Responsibilities

As Senior Legal Counsel - Privacy, your core duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with all privacy related laws and regulations for assigned entities, brands, and markets within the LeoVegas Mobile Gaming Group.
  • Serve as Data Protection Officer (DPO) for designated Group entities, fulfilling all statutory duties and responsibilities associated with the role.
  • Collaborate closely with other DPOs and internal stakeholders on all pertinent data protection matters.
  • Conduct comprehensive data protection due diligence on prospective and existing business partners.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex data protection agreements, clauses, and terms.
  • Draft, review, and update privacy policies and related procedures, privacy notices, and cookie policies for the Group and its partners.
  • Develop and refine internal procedures and policies to ensure robust personal data protection and GDPR compliance across all business operations.
  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a broad spectrum of data protection issues to various business units, senior management, and project teams.
  • Actively participate in and lead data protection workstreams within significant company projects, including mergers & acquisitions (M&As).
  • Take ownership of and lead major privacy-related initiatives, representing the Privacy team in critical cross-functional company projects and steering groups.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute significantly to the professional development and knowledge sharing within the Privacy team.
  • Contribute strategically to the evolution and implementation of the Group's overall privacy program and strategy.
  • Provide assistance and legal advice concerning data subjects' rights requests.
  • Manage and provide expert advice on customer complaints related to data protection.
  • Liaise effectively with data protection supervisory authorities and other regulators.
  • Handle any data breaches and associated reporting requirements in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Conduct, manage, advise on, and assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), other privacy related assessments or investigations, and privacy audits.

Requirements

  • A recognised legal qualification demonstrating a strong foundation in legal principles and analysis.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in a dedicated privacy legal role, preferably within a multinational or complex corporate environment.
  • Deep and demonstrable expertise in GDPR and other relevant global data protection laws.
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex data protection agreements and privacy-related policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a DPO or hold a similar lead privacy advisory role, including managing regulatory interactions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
