About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel focused on product and marketing compliance, data protection, IP, and regulatory compliance in the USA, EU, and UK. As part of the SKELAR Legal Risks & Compliance team, you will build the foundation that enables our businesses to scale quickly and with minimal risk.

Responsibilities

Identify potential risks in consumer protection, data privacy, and IP in the USA, EU, and UK.
Develop practical legal solutions to protect SKELAR interests and support business objectives.
Partner with marketing, product, engineering, and finance teams to implement comprehensive compliance programs.
Build and enhance legal processes to proactively manage risks.
Provide support for businesses in regulatory investigations and dispute resolution processes.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate them into actionable guidance and compliance initiatives.
Work directly with senior leadership, having real ownership from day one.

Requirements

4+ years of experience in top-tier law firms, Big 4, product, or tech companies.
A degree in law from a Ukrainian or foreign university.
Fluent English.
Initiative and willingness to work on a wide variety of legal matters.
Practical, business-oriented approach and ability to balance legal risk against commercial objectives.
Ability to think creatively to solve complex legal issues.
Result-oriented, well-organized, self-starter.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and concisely.

Nice to Have

Expertise in consumer protection laws in the USA and EU: FTC Act, ROSCA, OMNIBUS Directive, etc.
Understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection frameworks.
Expertise advising companies through the life cycle of business operations, including on commercial, compliance, and intellectual property matters.
Practical knowledge and use cases of AI tools.
