Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager Data & Cloud Engineering, you will:

Build Modern Data and Cloud Platforms
- Design and implement modern data and cloud platforms that serve as the foundation for analytics, AI, and data-driven business processes.
- Develop scalable data architectures for batch, streaming, and real-time workloads on leading cloud platforms.
- Establish best practices for Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure as Code, automation, security, and DataOps.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and transform innovations into scalable production systems and services.
Connect Business and Engineering
- Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into scalable cloud and data architectures.
- Bring together management, business departments, and engineering teams to create a shared understanding of the solution.
- Support clients in modernizing their data landscape and migrating to modern cloud environments.
Lead Complex Transformation Programs
- Be responsible for the successful delivery of complex Data and Cloud Engineering projects from a technical, commercial, and organizational perspective.
- Take overall responsibility for project delivery and governance, ensuring that scope, quality, budget, and timelines consistently meet client expectations.
- Lead interdisciplinary teams of Data-, Cloud-, and Software Engineers.
- Guide clients from architecture and design through implementation to the successful operation of their platforms.
Develop Clients, Business, and People
- Build trusted, long-term client relationships and strategically develop existing accounts.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposals, client workshops, and pitches.
- Coach Consultants and Engineers and support their professional and personal development.
- Bring market insights into our portfolio and actively contribute to the further development of our Data & Cloud Engineering practice.

Requirements

Several years of experience in consulting or leading complex Data, Cloud, or platform transformation projects.
Strong expertise in Data Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or the development of modern data platforms.
Excellent knowledge of leading cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) as well as modern Data Warehouses, Data Lakehouses, and big data technologies.
Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, modern data integration frameworks, ETL/ELT pipelines, and workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, container technologies, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps and Data Ops practices.
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable cloud and data architectures.
Experience leading interdisciplinary teams and communicating effectively with stakeholders at management and C-level.
Entrepreneurial mindset, enjoys developing client relationships, and actively contributes to business development.
Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field and excellent communication skills in both German and English.
