About the Role

Join GROPYUS and actively shape the cost competitiveness of our innovative building systems. At the intersection of product development, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and construction execution, you will identify and realize cost reduction potentials over the entire lifecycle of our buildings.

As a Senior Manager Cost Optimization - Building Systems, you will play a central role in establishing transparent cost structures, critically evaluating technical solutions, and implementing value engineering initiatives across our entire product portfolio.

This position is particularly suitable for candidates with solid experience in construction, prefabricated building systems, and project management. You will recognize practical and scalable potential for cost optimization in building planning, construction methods, and system integration and successfully implement them.

Your responsibilities include:

Supporting the development and implementation of the cost optimization strategy for our building systems to ensure cost competitiveness and value creation across the entire product portfolio.
Applying Design-to-Cost, Should-Cost, Value Engineering, and Target Costing methods in product development, manufacturing, procurement, and construction execution.
Identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing cost optimization potentials for building systems, components, materials, and interfaces in construction execution.
Developing and maintaining transparent cost models and benchmarks and ensuring a continuous learning process based on target-actual cost comparisons.
Steering cross-departmental cost optimization initiatives and supporting the implementation of improvement measures.
Working closely with the Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Construction, and R&D teams to sustainably anchor cost awareness in decision-making processes.

About You

Minimal Requirements

Several years of experience in Cost Engineering, Value Engineering, Construction Cost Management, Design Optimization, or technical project management within the construction industry.
Solid understanding of construction methods, building materials, interfaces with subcontractors, and the main cost drivers of construction projects.
Proven track record of achieving measurable cost reductions and sustainable business results through cross-departmental initiatives.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate technical solutions into economic impacts.
Willingness to travel regularly between our locations.
Fluent English skills.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with industrialized construction, modular building systems, prefabrication, or high-volume production environments.
Knowledge of timber construction, the German construction market, and digital costing and calculation tools.
Lean Six Sigma certification and/or practical experience in applying continuous improvement methods.
Fluent German skills.
