Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Fabric Platform Administrator to operate and scale one of the largest Fabric implementations globally. This role is responsible for automating, governing, and optimizing the platform at scale, with a strong emphasis on AI-driven operations, monitoring, and enforcement. You will ensure the platform is stable, secure, cost-efficient, and self-governing, leveraging automation and AI to reduce manual overhead and enforce standards.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for Fabric, including domains, workspaces, lakehouses, pipelines, capacities, security, and permissions
  • Develop parameterized deployment frameworks for multi-environment consistency (dev/test/prod), manage CI/CD pipelines for Fabric artifacts, and maintain reusable templates and golden paths
  • Leverage AI-assisted scripting tools to accelerate IaC development and validation, implement AI-based drift detection between environments, and automate template generation using AI recommendations
  • Enforce naming conventions, tagging, ownership, and lifecycle policies while preventing workspace sprawl via automated controls and aligning configurations with enterprise governance standards
  • Apply AI to detect governance violations, orphaned assets, and non-compliant usage patterns, and enable AI-driven recommendations for governance improvements
  • Administer tenant settings, feature enablement, capacity allocation, licensing strategies, regional configurations, and identity integrations across the enterprise
  • Optimize capacity allocation and licensing usage with AI insights, predict demand spikes, recommend scaling strategies, and identify underutilized resources
  • Track capacity performance and system health, optimize cost and resource utilization, monitor adoption patterns, and lead incident response and troubleshooting
  • Deploy predictive monitoring for capacity saturation, failures, and bottlenecks, and use AI for root cause analysis and real-time anomaly detection
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC), manage audit logs and compliance reporting, enforce data access governance with security teams, and oversee privileged access management
  • Apply AI for threat detection, unusual access pattern recognition, automated audit analysis, and identification of excessive or risky permissions
  • Coordinate platform upgrades, feature rollouts, and release management activities

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in platform administration, cloud operations, or data platform engineering
  • Expertise in Microsoft Fabric administration, including domains, workspaces, lakehouses, and capacities
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), parameterized deployment frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines for Fabric artifacts
  • Background in tenant administration, licensing strategies, and identity integrations at enterprise scale
  • Skills in governance enforcement, including naming conventions, tagging, ownership, and lifecycle policies
  • Competency in role-based access control (RBAC), audit logging, compliance reporting, and privileged access management
  • Knowledge of monitoring, capacity performance optimization, cost management, and incident response
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted scripting tools, drift detection, anomaly detection, and predictive monitoring
  • Understanding of change control and release management for large-scale platform environments
