De Nationale Loterij heeft geluk gehad… en was er klaar voor: 1,666 miljard euro aan inzetten in 2025 – een recordniveau! Er klaar voor zijn, dat is in de eerste plaats een kwestie van capaciteit. Heel concreet betekent dit dat we zeer hoge pieken van activiteit moeten kunnen opvangen, op een bepaald moment tot 5.000 deelnames per minuut. Die capaciteit steunt op een solide ecosysteem: een dicht netwerk van verkooppunten, een groeiende online aanwezigheid (voornamelijk mobiel) en een app die voor vele spelers een reflex is geworden.

Contact & Purpose of the Role

The National Lottery mobile application is evolving towards a future architecture (TO-BE) within the Apollo program, while ensuring continuity of the current application (AS-IS).

The current application relies on a defined mobile technology stack including:

• Android: Kotlin (MVVM, Clean Architecture), Retrofit/OkHttp, Room, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, Firebase, Adobe Experience Platform, Bloomreach, Didomi
• iOS: Swift (MVVM + Coordinators), Alamofire, Realm, Combine, UIKit/SwiftUI, Firebase, Adobe Experience Platform, Bloomreach, Didomi

Experience with similar architectures and integrations is expected. The application includes multiple backend integrations, API dependencies, SDK integrations and mobile journeys, requiring strong coordination between MAS, TCH and external vendors.

Given the increasing complexity and ongoing Apollo transformations, there is a need for a senior profile with both technical and delivery expertise to ensure structured execution, technical alignment and continuity.

Responsibilities

Delivery & Roadmap Structuring

• Structure and drive execution of the mobile app roadmap in the context of Apollo transition
• Translate business requirements into epics, delivery plans and priorities
• Coordinate delivery across frontend, backend and external dependencies
• Manage delivery risks, dependencies and timelines

Technical Coordination & Architecture Alignment

• Ensure correct integration of backend APIs within the mobile app
• Support alignment between mobile front-end and backend architecture
• Validate implementation of complex flows (login, scans, results, betslips, journeys)
• Assess and manage impacts of changes on CMS integrations and CMS authoring workflows (incl. impact on content editors)
• Contribute to solution design and technical approach definition
• Provide input on architecture topics such as:
  • API consumption strategies
  • Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) considerations
  • Integration patterns between mobile and backend systems

Apollo Transition (AS-IS → TO-BE)

• Support migration of mobile app flows to new backend/API architecture
• Assess impact of backend changes on app functionality and user journeys
• Ensure continuity during migration phases (coexistence of APIs)
• Contribute to analysis, scoping and estimation of migration efforts

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as coordination point between MAS, TCH and external vendors
• Ensure alignment between business priorities and technical delivery
• Facilitate communication and decision-making across teams
• Support delivery governance and roadmap follow-up in an Apollo transition context

Quality, Security & Delivery Standards

• Ensure that implementations meet quality, security and compliance standards
• Validate that integrations and flows are tested end-to-end
• Monitor performance, stability and delivery quality
• Assess and manage impacts of changes on data collection, tracking and reporting capabilities
• Contribute to structured release and delivery processes

Run & Operational Support

• Contribute to structured governance and operational processes
• Maintain and update a clear dashboard of the App Apollo transition status (progress, risks, dependencies, milestones)

Requirements

Experience

• Senior profile with experience in mobile or digital product delivery
• Proven experience in:
  • End-to-end delivery of mobile or web applications
  • Working in API-driven environments
  • Coordinating delivery across multiple teams and stakeholders
• Experience in complex or regulated environments is an asset

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of:
  • Mobile applications (frontend behaviour & constraints)
  • API integrations and backend dependencies
  • End-to-end system interactions (frontend ↔ backend)
• Experience with:
  • Solution design and architecture discussions
  • Integration patterns and API orchestration
  • Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) or similar approaches is a strong asset

Delivery & Coordination Skills

• Strong delivery ownership and structuring capabilities
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Ability to manage roadmap, backlog and dependencies
• Experience coordinating cross-functional and cross-vendor teams

Stakeholder Management

• Strong communication and alignment skills
• Ability to translate business needs into technical delivery
• Comfortable interacting with technical experts and business stakeholders
• Experience preparing and presenting status updates, risks and decision points to senior management / executive stakeholders
