Senior Murex Developer - Datamart

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Murex Developer - Datamart to join our leading bank in Asia, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role is part of the Global Markets Programme - Risk Project implementation using Murex v3. You will be working in a newly set-up technology center located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

Responsibilities

• Murex Datamart Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain Murex Datamart reporting solutions.
  • Develop Datamart extracts, cubes, and reporting interfaces.
  • Support enhancements, bug fixes, and optimization initiatives.
  • Configure and customize Datamart reporting components.

• Reporting & Data Management

  • Develop and support:
    • Regulatory reporting
    • Accounting-based reports
    • Simulation-based reports
    • Liquidity and risk reporting
    • Downstream reporting interfaces
  • Ensure data accuracy, reconciliation, and reporting consistency.

• Migration & Enhancement Projects

  • Participate in Murex upgrade, migration, and implementation projects.
  • Perform impact analysis and support release activities.
  • Deliver enhancements aligned with business requirements.

• Database & Query Development

  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and database objects.
  • Work with:
    • Oracle
    • SQL Server 2012
  • Perform data validation and performance tuning.

• Production Support & Issue Resolution

  • Investigate and resolve production issues related to Datamart reporting.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective solutions.
  • Support SIT, UAT, and production deployment activities.

• Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Finance, Risk, Operations, and Front Office teams.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to deliver reporting solutions.
  • Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Must have

  • 6-9 years of experience in Murex Datamart development
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Murex Datamart
    • Datamart reporting architecture
    • Reporting interfaces and downstream integration
    • Strong SQL development skills
    • Experience with:
      • Oracle
      • SQL Server
    • Experience in:
      • Datamart design and optimization
      • Migration and enhancement projects
      • Regulatory reporting
      • Accounting and simulation-based reporting
      • Knowledge of Murex products and trade lifecycle
    • Experience with Linux/Unix environments
    • Programming knowledge in Java and/or Python
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent stakeholder communication skills
    • Ability to work independently in complex environments
    • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and release processes
