Senior Network Engineer II

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer II to lead network architecture and modernization initiatives at Nielsen, focusing on security and resilience. This role is based in India and requires a full-time commitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead network architecture and modernization initiatives across various environments.
• Act as the technical lead for VPN strategy and transformation.
• Drive network segmentation initiatives to improve security posture.
• Partner with cybersecurity, application teams, and change management teams to design and implement network changes.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple networking domains.
• Support the evolution of enterprise and cloud networking patterns.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex network incidents.
• Create and maintain network diagrams, standards, and documentation.
• Use traffic analysis and telemetry to identify bottlenecks and improve performance.
• Mentor other engineers and help establish best practices.

Requirements

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering and production support.
• Proven experience as a technical lead or senior engineer.
• Strong background in core networking, including routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise wireless.
• Strong experience with VPN technologies, remote access architecture, and network security controls.
• Experience leading or contributing to network segmentation, access control, and zero trust initiatives.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to lead high-severity issue resolution.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, and/or Fortinet platforms.
• Experience with SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA, and modern remote access patterns.
• Experience with cloud networking and hybrid connectivity across AWS and other public cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with automation or infrastructure-as-code approaches.
• Experience in traffic analysis, network visualization, and phased deployment planning.
