Senior Packaging Sustainability Manager

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Packaging Sustainability Manager to join our team at PepsiCo. In this role, you will lead projects to deliver breakthrough innovation in driving our Foods packaging sustainability agenda through the development of new packaging structures and materials. You will be responsible for identifying long-term material solutions, discovering new technologies, and collaborating with various teams to scale up these innovations.

Responsibilities

• Identify long-term material solutions that lower GHG and/or meet sector business needs.
• Discover new global technologies and materials sources to define a pipeline of differentiated packaging solutions.
• Be fully conversant with the latest packaging technologies and initiatives.
• Analyze and improve existing packaging and processes to drive continuous improvement programs.
• Collaborate with external industry influencers to further our sustainability agenda.
• Partner with the Office of Sustainability on new tools for GHG modeling.

Requirements

• Technical degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a packaging-related field.
• 8-12 years of industry experience in film manufacturing or converting technical knowledge in packaging materials.
• Strong understanding of R&D and product development disciplines.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Global packaging experience is desired.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence development strategies.
• Ability to work in a diverse organization to accomplish complex goals.
• Ability to handle multiple initiatives and work effectively in an environment of ambiguity and change.
• Ability to function effectively in stressful situations.
