(Senior) Payroll Specialist (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

• Payroll Responsibility: Ensure the independent and timely execution of monthly payroll processing with DATEV.
• Payroll & HR Communication: Serve as the point of contact for employees and managers regarding payroll, tax matters, and social insurance issues.
• Certification Management: Create and process certifications and other payroll-related documents, ensuring complete documentation.
• Interface Management: Coordinate payroll-related topics with health insurance companies, authorities, and other external parties, working closely with our accounting team.
• Process Optimization: Question existing processes, identify optimization potentials, and implement pragmatic, efficient solutions.
• Tax and Social Insurance Matters: Handle the correct treatment of special cases, such as flat-rate taxations, and prepare relevant documents and data for external tax audits.

Requirements

• Extensive Payroll Experience: Several years of professional experience in independent payroll processing, ideally in a Buy & Build environment.
• DATEV Expertise: Strong practical knowledge of DATEV and the ability to work independently with the system. DATEV experience is mandatory for this position.
• Personio Knowledge: Ideally, you are already familiar with the system and have experience working with it.
• Technical Know-how: Solid understanding of payroll tax and social insurance law, with the ability to assess complex payroll cases confidently.
• Leadership Skills: Enjoy mentoring colleagues, sharing knowledge, and taking responsibility for the quality of collaborative work.
• Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex payroll topics clearly, communicate service-oriented, and act assertively with employees, managers, and external parties.
• Sense of Responsibility: Work accurately, structured, and reliably. Maintain deadlines, quality, and sensitive personal data even under high workload.
• Innovation Mindset: Not only reliably process payroll but also actively improve processes, recognize automation potentials, and pragmatically implement new solutions.
• Flexibility and Hands-on Attitude: Feel comfortable in a dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, and actively participate in daily operations.
