As part of the Developer Platform team, you will focus on enhancing our platform's capabilities, ensuring it remains reliable, fast, and easy for engineering teams to build upon. Our platform handles over 20 billion requests per month, and we are committed to continuous improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities

CI/CD and Testing: Own and evolve the systems and workflows that help engineers test, validate, and deploy code quickly and confidently.
Developer Experience and Productivity: Improve the speed, simplicity, and enjoyment of building and shipping high-quality software.
Developer Tooling and Paved Paths: Build scalable tools and abstractions that reduce friction and enable teams to work autonomously.
AI-Native Development: Utilize AI and agentic workflows to rethink and improve software development and deployment processes at Preply.
Infrastructure and Operations: Provide the infrastructure and paved paths that allow engineers and coding agents to build, test, and ship autonomously.
Quality Assurance: Set up quality gates and safety nets to ensure the reliability and trustworthiness of the software development lifecycle.
Partnership and Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to drive the adoption of your tooling and ensure smooth implementation of changes.

Requirements

CI/CD Depth: Strong hands-on experience in building and operating CI/CD systems and pipelines at scale, including understanding reliability, performance, and cost trade-offs.
Backend Software Systems: Extensive experience (approximately 8 years) in designing and building complex backend software systems.
Software Engineering Skills: Proficiency in Python, which is used to build platform services, developer tooling, and automation.
AI Expertise: Experience as a forefront user of Agentic AI, capable of influencing the team beyond code generation, with a focus on architecture, business logic, and security.
Developer Platforms: Experience in building developer platforms, internal developer tooling, and solutions that enhance developer productivity and experience.
Cloud-Native Environments: Familiarity with cloud-native environments and distributed systems.
Business-Oriented and Data-Driven: A business-oriented and data-driven approach to problem-solving.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with a minimum C1 level in English.

Nice to Have

Experience in designing platforms and tooling specifically for engineers as internal users.
Strong understanding of developer needs and workflows.
