Responsibilities

The Senior Producer, Brand Storytelling is responsible for developing and producing compelling editorial content that brings Empower’s brand, products, leaders, employees, and customer stories to life. This role combines journalism, creative storytelling, and multimedia production to create authentic, engaging narratives that deepen audience trust, strengthen brand affinity, and support strategic business priorities.

  • Identify, research, and develop compelling stories across Empower’s products, customers, employees, leadership, and brand initiatives.
  • Translate complex financial wellness, wealth, and retirement topics into clear, engaging, audience-focused narratives.
  • Create and pitch editorial concepts for video series, podcasts, executive storytelling initiatives, customer features, and branded content programs.
  • Lead end-to-end production of multimedia content from concept development through final publication.
  • Conduct research, interviews, story development, scriptwriting, editorial planning, and content review activities.
  • Coordinate production schedules, talent preparation, shoot logistics, recording sessions, and post-production workflows.
  • Collaborate with creative internal teams and external production partners to ensure high-quality content execution.
  • Oversee editing workflows, review cycles, fact-checking, stakeholder approvals, and final content delivery.
  • Produce recurring video and podcast content featuring executives, customers, industry experts, and subject matter experts.
  • Prepare hosts, executives, and on-camera talent through interview preparation, scripting support, and storytelling guidance.
  • Shape narratives with strong editorial judgment, pacing, tone, and audience relevance across long-form and short-form formats.
  • Develop platform-specific content adaptations and promotional assets for social and digital channels.
  • Apply journalistic principles to uncover authentic insights, strengthen storytelling quality, and maintain content credibility.
  • Ensure all content meets established editorial, legal, compliance, brand, and quality standards.
  • Monitor emerging storytelling trends, audience behaviors, podcast formats, creator-led media, and content distribution best practices.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align content strategies with organizational objectives and audience needs.
  • Support the development, execution, and growth of recurring content franchises, executive-led storytelling series, and thought leadership programming.
  • Contribute as an individual contributor without formal people leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Journalism, Communications, Media Production, Marketing, English, Film, Broadcasting, or a related field.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in brand storytelling, editorial content, journalism, podcasting, video production, documentary-style content creation, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience producing video and/or podcast content from concept development through post-production.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, including script development, editorial planning, narrative structure, and interview content creation.
  • Proven ability to interview executives, customers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong editorial judgment with the ability to develop content that is engaging, credible, and strategically aligned.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics into accessible and audience-relevant content.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across creative, marketing, communications, legal, and executive teams.
  • Experience with content production and editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Descript, Riverside, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with social-first storytelling principles and multi-platform content distribution strategies.
  • Ability and willingness to appear on camera when business needs require.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Background in journalism, documentary filmmaking, editorial media, branded content, or related storytelling disciplines.
  • Experience producing content within financial services, fintech, healthcare, or other regulated industries is preferred.
  • Experience launching, scaling, or managing recurring content franchises or executive-led content series is preferred.

Base Salary Range

$96,100.00 - $135,700.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
