Job description
About the Position
Senior Product Analyst Operations Research (m/f/d)
- Location: Pullach, Germany
- Department: TECH & Engineering
- Legal Entity: Sixt SE
- Employment Type: Full-time
As Senior Product Analyst Operations Research (m/f/d) at SIXT in Pullach near Munich, you define what success means for our ML products before they are built. You design evaluation strategies for complex problems, work closely with Product Owners and Data Science teams, and shorten time to market through evidence-based validation. You build self-service analytics tools and establish evaluation standards across product teams, ensuring data-driven decisions rest on solid foundations.
Responsibilities
- Define success metrics for our ML products before they are developed, setting metric trees, evaluation criteria, and guardrails together with Product Owners, Data Science teams, and business stakeholders
- Design evaluation strategies for problems where the target cannot be observed directly, breaking models down into testable components and building simulation benchmarks as well as structural consistency checks
- Act as the Product Owner's partner in shaping product direction, translating Data Science results into business implications and business questions into well-posed analytical problems
- Turn stakeholder feedback into structured evidence through pre-agreed review criteria, comparisons, and systematic tracking of manual overrides
- Shorten time to market by validating ideas early with baselines, rapid prototypes, and offline evaluation, so launch decisions rest on available evidence
- Build self-service analytics and AI-assisted tools so that recurring business questions get answered without ad hoc requests, and help establish evaluation standards across product teams and share your methods with colleagues
Requirements
- Education: You hold a Master's degree or higher in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
- Statistics & Metric Design: You have a solid foundation in statistics and a strong analytical mindset, with good intuition for designing metrics that capture what really matters, especially when the ideal measurement is not available
- Product Thinking: You frame business problems in terms of decisions and outcomes, prioritize by impact, and are comfortable challenging a request when the underlying question is different
- Communication: You explain model behavior, uncertainty, and trade-offs clearly to non-technical audiences, and hold an evidence-based position when results are contested
- AI Proficiency: You use AI tools to prototype quickly, automate analysis, and build evaluation workflows, and actively drive their adoption across the team
Nice to Have
- Expertise in Python and SQL, including building simulations and reusable evaluation pipelines
- Understanding of how optimization outputs such as shadow prices drive operational decisions, ideally from experience in revenue management or pricing
We Offer
- Extra Benefits: Enjoy discounts on SIXT rent, share, ride, and SIXT+, attractive vehicle leasing offers, and exclusive deals with partners for travel, tech, fashion, and more
- AI at Your Fingertips: From day one, you'll have access to AI tools like Anthropic's Claude and SIXT's own AI platform, SIXTgpt, to supercharge your work
- Mobility Boost: You will receive a monthly allowance as a contribution to your individual mobility
- Future Security: We contribute to your retirement plan and support you with capital-forming benefits to ensure you are well covered
- Feel-Good Atmosphere: Stay active with our modern SIXT gym, various leisure activities like the gaming area or the SIXT choir, and enjoy our high-quality employee restaurant
- Flexibility: Enjoy 30 days of vacation and a hybrid working model with flexible hours
- Giving Back: Take one day each year to volunteer at a charitable organization dedicated to supporting children
