About the Position

Senior Python Test Automation Engineer

Join an EPAM project in the cryptocurrency domain as a QA Automation Engineer and contribute to building a reliable, scalable quality engineering approach. The role combines Python-based test automation with AI-assisted engineering. You’ll work with user-facing and back-office applications, analyze evolving requirements, design effective test scenarios, and help expand automated coverage across UI, API, and non-functional testing.

We are looking for an engineer who combines strong automation expertise with an analytical mindset and is comfortable using modern LLM-based tools and AI-assisted development practices to solve testing and engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for UI and API layers
• Analyze requirements, identify gaps and ambiguities, and translate them into testable scenarios
• Extend test coverage across functional and non-functional areas
• Improve existing automation frameworks, test strategies, and QA processes
• Collaborate with client and engineering teams to establish effective QA practices
• Work with relational databases using SQL and programmatic database connections
• Investigate defects and contribute to root-cause analysis
• Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve product quality and delivery processes
• Apply AI-assisted approaches to test design, analysis, documentation, and other engineering activities

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Python, Pytest, Pydantic, and Requests
• Solid experience with UI automation, including Page Object Model, CSS selectors, and XPath
• Experience with REST API testing
• Experience with Allure
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Practical experience with LLMs and AI-assisted development tools
• Understanding of LLM capabilities, limitations, guardrails, and common AI anti-patterns
• Ability to break down complex tasks into structured steps for AI-assisted workflows
• Familiarity with Specification-Driven Development (SDD)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with changing or incomplete requirements
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with technical and business stakeholders
• High level of ownership and ability to work independently

Nice to Have

• Experience with Faker, Locust, Allure TestOps, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Experience with performance or non-functional testing
• Experience improving QA practices or automation frameworks within an established development environment
• Background in fintech, cryptocurrency, financial services, or other high-availability domains
