About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Playwright Architect to lead the end-to-end design and implementation of a brand-new automated non-regression testing solution for an enterprise insurance web application.
In this role, you will take full technical ownership of the test automation ecosystem-from architecting a scalable Playwright framework in TypeScript to establishing database-level data preparation mechanisms and integrating the entire suite into GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
Additionally, you will act as a technical mentor by conducting code reviews for a junior automation engineer and collaborating directly with client technical teams to drive seamless knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities
- Build a greenfield, highly reusable test automation framework using Playwright and TypeScript, enforcing the Page Object Model (POM) architectural pattern.
- Establish design guidelines, coding standards, and project structures for scalable web test automation.
- Design and implement SQL-based database mechanisms for automated test data setup, validation, and teardown.
- Ensure test execution is deterministic, isolated, and repeatable across different environments.
- Develop, parameterize, and maintain data-driven test scripts for complex insurance workflows.
- Integrate and orchestrate automated test suites into GitHub CI/CD pipelines for automated regression runs and reporting.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a junior automation engineer through code reviews and mentoring.
- Partner with client-side counterparts to facilitate structured knowledge transfer, documentation, and long-term solution enablement.
Requirements
- Extensive, continuous experience architecting and scaling web automation frameworks using Playwright.
- Deep expertise in TypeScript for strong typing, modular architecture, and maintainable test suites.
- Demonstrated experience setting up, maintaining, and optimizing automated workflows in GitHub Actions.
- Solid experience handling test data layer setup, executing SQL queries, and managing data preparation scripts.
- Proven track record of designing reusable, enterprise-grade test automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of data-driven testing principles, Page Object Model design patterns, and non-regression strategies.
- Experience in code review processes, mentoring junior developers, and technical client consulting.
- Italian and English Fluent
