Job description

About the Position

We are in search of a Senior SAP CAP Java Developer to contribute to the development of multiple services from the ground up within the SAP Business Network. You will be involved in all stages of the product development and deployment lifecycle: idea generation, planning, design, prototyping, execution, shipping, and iteration.

As a problem solver, regardless of which frameworks you use or how you learned them, you will write clean, effective code while working closely with the team architect and product manager. You will take complex product roadmap features, break them down into their required technical components, and develop them independently, tirelessly advocating for best practices and quality to create scalable microservices with a keen sense of pragmatism.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team leaders to create commercial software
  • Work autonomously to analyze, research, and solve production issues, customer requests, and inquiries while escalating appropriately
  • Assess the severity and scope of problems, maintaining accountability until they are resolved
  • Organize and address multiple production issues and customer requests from several sources efficiently, delegating when and if appropriate
  • Break down complex product roadmap features into technical components and develop them independently
  • Advocate for best practices and quality to build scalable microservices
  • Partner closely with the team architect and product manager throughout the product lifecycle

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience in coding web-based applications
  • Knowledge of design patterns and data structures
  • Background in building web APIs and API-first design principles such as Swagger, GraphQL, and REST API
  • Skills in Fiori-based development, including SAPUI5, oData, and CAP CDS
  • Expertise in Java Spring Boot and web service development
  • Familiarity with HANA DB and at least one relational database management system
  • Proficiency in development tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Selenium
  • Competency in containerization and infrastructure tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
  • Capability to use configuration management tools such as Puppet and Chef
  • Understanding of deployment environments, application configuration, and change management principles
  • Showcase of Agile development experience using version control platforms like Git, GitHub, or GitLab
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and issue tracking tools like Jira
  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with microservices architecture
