Your Impact
Mollie's Risk team is growing, and this role is at the heart of that expansion. You'll collaborate closely with product teams to ensure new offerings like card issuing, bank accounts, instant transactions, and new payment methods comply with regulations without adding risk for our customers. You'll also screen new tools and vendors, focusing on security aspects such as authorization and authentication, and work alongside Compliance on every new product.
As a senior member of a small team, you'll bring technical expertise and help colleagues early in their risk careers. This role isn't for checklist followers. You'll work independently, without rigid frameworks, and help shape how security risk is managed as Mollie's footprint expands.
Responsibilities
- Partner with colleagues to build and enhance products, manage IT assets, and implement risk and security controls while adhering to regulations (DORA, PSD2, GDPR, AI Act, CRA, NIS2, etc.).
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders of Risk and Compliance to set out second-line risk priorities and initiatives.
- Foster a strong risk culture across the organization and support a growing organization in all relevant areas.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes in internal/external audits and certifications (PCI-DSS, SOC2, etc.).
- Translate complex regulations into actionable guidance, balancing commercial success with compliance.
Requirements
- Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience.
- Technical Comfort: At ease with different technology platforms, able to dive into technical documentation and system architectures. Working understanding of engineering, security technologies, culture, tools, and best practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal abilities to explain risk decisions to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Can-Do Attitude and Creative Problem Solver: The second line needs to be creative in finding solutions to maintaining security in a growing organization.
- Customer Focus: Always consider customer impact when making security and risk decisions.
- Inquisitive Approach: Ready to experiment, always looking for better ways to solve problems. Curiosity towards new technologies (AI included) is highly appreciated.
Nice to Have
- Payments/Fintech Experience: Understanding of financial or payments-related technical solutions.
- Certifications: Certified CISSP or CISM, and/or cloud certification (GCP), network, or other relevant security and technical certifications.
- Education: Advanced University Degree in Information Technology or another relevant technological study.
We Offer
- Growth Opportunities: Regular feedback, performance reviews, and fair salary reviews to support your development.
- Flexibility: 20 days working from abroad per year (excl high-risk countries), wellbeing budget of €60 per month, lifestyle and health support via OpenUp.
- Holidays: 26 holiday days plus an extra 2 days off between 27 and 31 December.
- Commute Options: NS Business Card and participation in our bike lease plan.
- Birthday Off: Enjoy your special day off!
- WFH Equipment Budget: €400 one-off budget for new hires.
- Hybrid Working: WFH & Internet allowance at €60 a month.
- Discounted Lunch: Hot and cold meals plus snacks available each day for less than €4.
- Health Insurance: Insure with ONVZ or receive €125 net towards your own insurance.
