About the Position
Senior Semiconductor Device Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Semiconductor Device Engineer to join our innovative team at Helion in Everett, WA. This role is pivotal in driving the design and development of cutting-edge semiconductors for high-performance pulsed power systems used in our fusion generators.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead efforts to gather and utilize requirements for switching components and apply them toward design of physical products
- Drive the design and development of novel pulsed power electronics components and systems, focusing on high-efficiency, high-reliability semiconductor solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of electrical, mechanical, and physics-based principles in semiconductor development
- Lead development cycles, including hands-on prototyping, small-scale testing, and large-scale performance validation
- Conduct simulations, testing, and analysis to validate designs and iterate quickly using data-backed decision making
- Stay informed on emerging semiconductor materials, device architectures, and industry trends
- Document design processes, specifications, test results, and findings for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in power electronics and high voltage semiconductor design
- Strong foundation in semiconductor physics, power electronics, and circuit design principles
- Proven experience with rapid prototyping and development cycles in a high-tech environment
- Background working with semiconductor fabricators to manufacture semiconductor devices
- Proficiency with simulation tools and test equipment for power electronics

Compensation Range: $235K - $270K
