Senior Shopify Developer

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with strong Node.js and Shopify experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work on building scalable backend services, Shopify integrations, and full-stack features while following modern architecture and development best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Node.js and TypeScript
• Build backend services using NestJS and modern frontend/full-stack frameworks (Next.js or Remix.js)
• Design and optimize SQL Server databases, including queries and schemas
• Implement background jobs and async workflows using BullMQ
• Work with Redis for caching and performance optimization
• Develop and maintain Shopify apps and integrations
• Integrate Shopify APIs (GraphQL Admin API and Storefront API)
• Implement Shopify webhooks (orders, products, inventory, fulfillment)
• Work with Azure services such as App Service, Azure SQL, and Blob Storage
• Design and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs
• Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability
• Collaborate with the team through code reviews and pull requests
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience
• Strong knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience with NestJS
• Experience with Next.js or Remix.js
• Solid experience with SQL Server (queries, schema design, performance tuning)
• Experience with Prisma ORM
• Experience with Redis
• Experience with job queues such as BullMQ or Bull
• Experience designing REST and GraphQL APIs
• Strong understanding of software architecture and best practices (SOLID, clean code)
• Experience working with Git workflows and code reviews
• Ability to quickly understand and work with existing codebases

Shopify Experience

• Experience building Shopify apps (public or custom)
• Strong knowledge of Shopify APIs (GraphQL Admin API and Storefront API)
• Experience working with Shopify webhooks
• Understanding of Shopify OAuth and authentication
• Experience with Shopify CLI

Nice to Have

• Experience with Shopify App Bridge and embedded apps
• Familiarity with Shopify Polaris
• Experience with metafields and metaobjects
• Experience with bulk operations
• Experience with theme app extensions
• Experience with Azure services
• Experience working in monorepos
• Experience handling webhook reliability and idempotency
• Experience with AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.)
• Experience structuring projects for AI-assisted development
