Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements
About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (C++) to join our team in India, focusing on enhancing our Data Aggregation Service. This role is part of a distributed team working on a new delivery pipeline that extends our existing UniMap (UnIM) work. The service aggregates Vehicle Probe Data (VPD) - raw sensor data collected from vehicles - and extracts features from it to support map alignment (VPD2 Map Alignment).
Responsibilities
- Take existing C++ algorithm code and productionize it - containerize with Docker and integrate into the aggregation service.
- Identify and replace libraries within the C++ codebase that don’t play well with Docker/containerized deployments.
- Work with data scientists to understand what the existing algorithms do, so the productionized version is faithful to the original logic.
- Write test cases and validation suites for the aggregation algorithms.
- Contribute to other parts of the polyglot service stack (Java/Scala/Python) as needed.
- Collaborate with distributed team members across India, US, and Europe.
Requirements
- Approximately 4–6 years of professional software engineering experience (flexible for strong candidates close to this range).
- Strong hands-on C++ experience (must-have).
- Experience with Docker/containerization of services or algorithms.
- Ability to read, understand, and work with existing/legacy code written by others.
- Experience writing automated tests/validation for data-processing or algorithmic code.
Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of C#.
- Exposure to Java, Scala, or Python.
- Interest or background in geospatial/mapping or automotive sensor data.
We Offer
- Competitive salary
- Opportunity to work in a hybrid model
- Collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Professional growth and development opportunities
