Senior Software Engineer (FE) for Vuori

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain our client-side web applications using ReactJS. You will work closely with our UI/UX designers, product managers, and marketing / eCommerce team to ensure the best possible user experience.

  • Design and develop high-volume, high-traffic eCommerce experiences with a focus on scalability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, designers, merchandisers, and project managers) to deliver best-in-class user experiences.
  • Optimize application performance, including Core Web Vitals, page load times, caching strategies, image/ asset optimization, and bundle size.
  • Ensure high-quality, maintainable code through code reviews, testing, and adherence to atomic design and component-library best practices.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards and maintain reusable component libraries documented in Storybook.
  • Work closely with backend and platform engineers to integrate Shopify Storefront GraphQL, Contentstack CMS, Algolia search, and other third-party services efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with web accessibility standards (WCAG) and security best practices, including safe handling of customer tokens and HttpOnly cookies.
  • Partner with DevOps to streamline CI/CD pipelines for Next.js deployments on Netlify.
  • Instrument and monitor production behavior using OpenTelemetry and New Relic (RUM + APM).
  • Participate in technical strategy discussions, influencing the roadmap and making key technology decisions.
  • Stay current with emerging web technologies and advocate for best practices such as test-driven development, refactoring, and incremental migration.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to improve development workflows, code quality, and performance optimization.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a strong engineering culture.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional front-end development experience, with 3+ years focused on React and Next.js.
  • Expert proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript (strict, no any), HTML5, and modern CSS.
  • Deep knowledge of Next.js: Pages Router, SSR, SSG, ISR, API Routes, and middleware. Familiarity with App Router is a plus.
  • Strong experience with Material-UI (MUI) v5 and Emotion, including theming and design tokens.
  • Experience structuring large component libraries using atomic design.
  • Strong understanding of web performance optimization (Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, bundle analysis).
  • Experience with React state management (Context API, hooks; Redux / Zustand familiarity welcome).
  • Proficiency integrating GraphQL (Shopify, Algolia) and REST APIs, including codegen workflows.
  • Testing experience: Jest, React Testing Library, MSW, Playwright.
  • Familiarity with Storybook.
  • Strong experience with Git / GitHub workflows.
  • Solid understanding of Agile, TDD, and DevOps.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced English proficiency (B2–C1 or higher).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Next.js on Netlify.
  • Experience with Contentstack or another headless CMS.
  • Experience with the Shopify ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with Algolia search tools.
  • Experience with observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, New Relic).
  • Familiarity with marketing / personalization tools (Klaviyo, Nosto, etc.).
  • Experience using AI development tools.
  • Knowledge of full-stack development using Next.js API Routes.
  • Exposure to AWS.
