Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (Consumer Engineering)

About the Position

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack to join our Consumer Growth Experience Engineering (CGX) team in Canada. This role is fully remote and offers a competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to support the product development lifecycle.
• Proactively identify and solve project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards.
• Help develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance.

Requirements

• Experience leading significant mobile initiatives (React Native or native).
• Experience working across React Native and native boundaries (Swift/Kotlin).
• Experience implementing experimentation, feature flagging, and analytics instrumentation in mobile applications.
• Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to define a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component.
• Proficiency at making significant changes in a large codebase.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
