Senior Software Engineer - Global KYC and Onboarding

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Global KYC and Onboarding team at Wise. This role is pivotal in enabling our teams to expand and fine-tune the business globally while ensuring compliance and safety for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for your areas of responsibility, addressing technical debt, reliability, scalability, and security concerns.
• Design and implement robust backend systems with clean APIs and interfaces.
• Drive integration with various risk and mitigation systems to ensure compliance.
• Identify and solve impactful problems, contributing to high-impact cross-team initiatives.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with any programming language, asynchronous message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and building scalable microservices.
• Strong product mindset and passion for customer experience and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to prioritize work with a holistic view, making data-driven decisions.
• Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Commitment to writing clean, testable, maintainable, and high-performance code.
• Proven ability to lead the technical delivery of large-scale, complex projects.
• Extensive experience with relational and non-relational databases, including advanced query optimization, schema design, and data lifecycle management.
