About the Position
Senior Software Engineer @ING Hubs Romania
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team at ING Hubs Romania. As a key player in our squad, you will be instrumental in developing and supporting our globally used service mesh solution.
Responsibilities
- Join Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups) to align on progress, priorities, and blockers
- Collaborate with teammates through pair programming on user stories
- Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality
- Take ownership of user stories from implementation to delivery
- Contribute to internal initiatives, such as preparing talks or sharing knowledge to promote platform adoption
- Support other teams integrating with the platform, guiding them through setup and troubleshooting issues
- Continuously improve documentation to make solutions reusable and accessible
- Identify gaps or improvement areas (e.g., outdated versions, missing automation) and contribute them to the backlog
- Help enhance developer experience and platform usability through feedback and incremental improvements
- Actively contribute to strengthening the engineering ecosystem and collaboration across teams
Requirements
- 10+ years experience as a Software Engineer
- DevOps as Cloud-minded Engineer
- Go or similar systems language. Other examples are: Go, Rust, Java, or C-family languages
- A polyglot mindset and eagerness to learn new languages and technologies
- GCP, AKS or Kubernetes experience
- Experience with Envoy proxy is important, and contributions to OSS Envoy is a plus. Alternatively Nginx experience is also desirable.
