Job description
About the Position
Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human
Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.
This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.
The Product
Okta’s Auth0 is an easy-to-implement authentication and authorization platform designed by developers for developers. We make access to applications safe, secure, and seamless for the more than 100 million daily logins around the world. Our modern approach to identity enables this Tier-Ø global service to deliver convenience, privacy, and security so customers can focus on innovation.
The Team
The Organizations team is expanding Auth0 to help B2B SaaS applications easily manage access for their own customers and partners, at scale. We make it possible for enterprise SaaS users to log in with the right set of permissions within the right context, and for our B2B customers to onboard access for their customers easily. Our work is cross-cutting and always heavily customer driven.
We work in NodeJS (JavaScript and TypeScript) and use PostgreSQL for our data needs. Our services run on AWS and Azure and we lean heavily on containers for both our development and production needs.
If you have a keen eye for good user experiences and enjoy solving hard problems at scale, we can’t wait to talk to you.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers both inside and outside the team to design and deliver powerful new enterprise functionality for our SaaS customers - both for the login flow itself and for Auth0’s direct and self-service management capabilities
- Drive technical improvements to our codebase and architecture
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers on sound engineering practices
- Occasionally, help drive improvements to shared stacks of functionality - such as our internal tooling for interactive testing of the product
- Work with your team, the Product Manager, and Product Designer to define the look, feel, and functionality of new features and review customer feedback
Requirements
- Previous experience using Node.js (JavaScript or TypeScript) and creating and maintaining public APIs
- Experience working on full-stack apps in the past (expertise not required, but a decent portion of our work is on the front-end as well)
- Experience and an eye for good engineering practices and testing, and a love to share them
- Experience working on systems that are highly-reliable, maintainable, and scalable
- Experience with Docker and cloud environments (AWS and Azure preferred)
- Ability to work autonomously but know when to seek help from your team members
- Good mentoring and communication skills, and the ability to bring the rest of your team along for the journey
Nice to Have
- IAM/OAuth2 experience
- Understanding and experience of DevOps culture
- Good SQL knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of security engineering and application security
We Offer
- Competitive salary range: $136,000-$187,000 CAD per year
- Equity (where applicable)
- Bonus
- Comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance
- RRSP with a match
- Healthcare spending
- Telemedicine
- Paid leave (including PTO and parental leave)
