Senior Software Engineer - Travel Management

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Travel Management team to design distributed backend systems and drive scalable solutions. This role is remote and open to candidates based in Latin America (LATAM).

Responsibilities

• Re-architect account hierarchy - migrating from single-user-per-business assumptions to a scalable model that supports complex parent-child business relationships
• Build out dynamic travel policies that scale across lodging, flights, and cars for enterprise customers
• Evaluate what stays in the monolith vs. moves to microservices - and make the call
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders on negotiations and tough product calls
• Partner with frontend engineers on the team to ship features end-to-end

Requirements

Required:

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals in Node / TypeScript
• Solid relational database experience (Postgres, MySQL) and distributed systems knowledge
• AWS and serverless architecture experience (Lambda)
• Conviction with rationale - you make decisions with incomplete information, own them, and move forward
• Highly cross-functional - you'll interface directly with business partners on negotiations and product decisions
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and negotiating outcomes across engineering and business
• Insist on high standards - for your code, your systems, and your team

Nice to Have:

• Ruby on Rails experience (some of our services are on Rails)
• Some React or frontend exposure
• Prior experience building multi-tenant enterprise systems, permissions frameworks, or policy engines
