Senior System Administrator (IT Infrastructure)

About the Position

One of our clients specializes in producing equipment and radio-electronic devices that enhance the effectiveness of combat operations. The company is continuously growing, evolving, and improving its processes.

Our expanding IT department is currently seeking a Senior System Administrator (IT Infrastructure) in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and administering server infrastructure.
• Administering Windows Server and Linux/Unix systems.
• Managing physical and virtual servers, clusters, and virtualization systems.
• Administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file, and print services.
• Managing user accounts, access groups, and user permissions.
• Supporting corporate services, monitoring systems, and infrastructure platforms.
• Ensuring the continuity and high availability of critical services.
• Installing security updates and maintaining system relevance.
• Participating in responding to information security events.
• Analyzing system logs and suspicious activities.
• Collaborating with the information security team during incident investigations.
• Implementing and supporting EDR, antivirus, SIEM, and other security solutions.
• Configuring and maintaining server, network, and service monitoring systems.
• Monitoring infrastructure availability, performance, and resource usage.
• Analyzing incidents and root causes of problems.
• Identifying potential issues before they affect users and the business.
• Preparing recommendations for improving infrastructure stability and performance.
• Automating routine administrative tasks.
• Writing and maintaining PowerShell/Bash/Python scripts.
• Automating server, user, permission, and resource creation and configuration.
• Using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools.
• Optimizing administrative processes to reduce manual operations.
• Participating in the design and implementation of IT infrastructure projects.
• Migrating servers and services.
• Upgrading and modernizing infrastructure.
• Evaluating new technologies and preparing technical recommendations.
• Preparing technical documentation and infrastructure diagrams.
• Participating in IT infrastructure development planning.
• Advising system administrators and junior IT professionals.
• Collaborating with developers, DevOps, information security, and other IT teams.
• Interacting with contractors and IT solution providers.
• Maintaining technical documentation, knowledge bases, and instructions.
• Contributing to the formation and improvement of IT processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a system administrator.
• In-depth practical knowledge of Windows Server and Linux.
• Experience administering Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, VLAN principles.
• Practical experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
• Experience administering server hardware and storage systems.
• Practical experience with backup systems.
• Experience with monitoring systems.
• Understanding of information security principles.
• Experience with firewalls and other network security tools.
• Skills in diagnosing complex problems at the OS, network, and infrastructure service levels.
• Understanding of high availability and resilience principles.
