Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer

About the Position

The Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer bridges the gap between our AI platform and real-world client environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong client-facing skills to deliver customized AI implementations, lead technical discovery, and ensure successful solution adoption.

You will work closely with enterprise clients, internal AI engineers, Solution Designers, and leadership teams to design, prototype, and deploy advanced AI solutions, often in ambiguous and fast-changing environments. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, architecture, and client collaboration.

Location: Remote / Hybrid (Ukraine / EU), with occasional international business travel to client sites

Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Technical Leadership

• Lead technical discovery sessions and requirements workshops with clients
• Design and architect custom AI solutions tailored to client needs
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned client accounts
• Present technical solutions to C-level and senior stakeholders

Solution Implementation

• Implement, customize, and deploy AI solutions in client environments
• Integrate LLM vendors and platforms with client systems and data sources
• Develop Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and MVPs to validate solution approaches
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments

AI-Augmented Development

• Lead AI-augmented development practices within project teams
• Leverage GenAI tools for rapid prototyping and solution acceleration
• Design and implement Agentic systems and RAG pipelines
• Evaluate and recommend AI tools and technologies for specific use cases

Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Mentor Solution Designers and software engineers
• Conduct code reviews and architecture reviews
• Contribute to technical standards and engineering best practices
• Support presales activities with technical expertise and solution demos

Requirements

Experience

• 3+ years in software development
• 2+ years in client-facing technical roles (Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, FDE, etc.)
• 1+ year of hands-on experience with LLMs / GenAI technologies
• Proven track record of successful project deliveries

Portfolio Requirements

• Complex system implementations (architecture decisions, trade-offs, outcomes)
• Client success stories showing how technical solutions solved business problems
• AI / GenAI project experience (LLM integrations, RAG systems, AI-powered tools)
• Open-source contributions or technical writing (optional, but highly valued)

Technical Skills

• Software Architecture: Scalable, maintainable systems; microservices and event-driven architectures
• Python Development: Production-grade Python, async programming, API development
• LLM / GenAI Integration: RAG systems, prompt engineering, LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI)
• API Design & Integration: REST, GraphQL, webhooks, third-party APIs
• Databases: SQL optimization; vector databases (Milvus, Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector)
• Cloud Platforms: AWS or Azure, serverless architectures, Docker, Kubernetes
• DevOps & CI/CD: GitHub Actions, deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code
• Analytical Thinking: Complex problem decomposition, root cause analysis, system optimization
• Business Analysis: Requirements elicitation, process mapping, stakeholder management, ROI analysis

AI-Augmented SDLC Skills

• AI Coding Assistants (Expert): Replit, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot
• AI Output Validation (Expert): QA of AI-generated code and content
• Prompt Engineering (Advanced): Few-shot learning, chain-of-thought prompting
• AI Architecture Design (Advanced): RAG pipelines, agent systems, multi-model orchestration

Soft Skills

• Strong client communication skills (assessed via role-play)
• Clear and confident technical presentation skills (assessed via live demo)
• Problem-solving mindset (assessed via technical case study)
• Leadership and mentoring abilities (assessed via behavioral interview)
• High adaptability to ambiguity and changing requirements

Languages

• English: Upper-Intermediate+ (B2/C1) or higher
• Ukrainian: Native or C1 required

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

• Specification-driven development using AI-assisted requirements and documentation workflows
• Master’s degree or relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, AI/ML)
