Senior Technical Project Manager

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join a large-scale software development project involving the development of APIs and intelligent software agents. The project focuses on building a next-generation B2B platform, initially in the healthcare domain, involving scientific computing, API development, and AI agents. It's a greenfield initiative with a long-term roadmap.

As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the project. This role requires someone who is comfortable working in a highly technical environment and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Location: Remote, with occasional travel for workshops/meetings.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of project planning, coordination, and delivery
• Clarify requirements, priorities, dependencies, and expectations
• Translate high-level requirements and technical documentation into actionable work for the engineering team
• Plan and coordinate the initial pilot and subsequent project phases
• Coordinate a distributed engineering team and support the gradual scaling of the team as project needs increase
• Track project progress, milestones, workload, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines
• Facilitate communication between the client, developers, technical leads, and other stakeholders
• Identify potential delivery risks and proactively work on mitigation plans
• Ensure that technical and functional questions are properly followed up and resolved
• Organize and facilitate project meetings, planning sessions, status updates, and retrospectives where appropriate
• Maintain clear project documentation, status reports, and delivery plans
• Support resource planning and help determine when additional technical resources are required
• Work closely with technical leads to ensure that the team has the information and direction required to deliver successfully
• Ensure that the project remains aligned with the agreed scope, priorities, and delivery deadlines
• Support the transition from the initial pilot into a larger-scale development operation

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Technical Project Management / Software Delivery Management
• Strong background managing software development projects, preferably involving complex technical environments
• Solid technical understanding of software development and modern engineering practices
• Experience working with C++ and/or other lower-level/backend technologies is highly desirable
• Experience working with distributed or international engineering teams
• Strong experience with project planning, estimation, resource planning, and delivery tracking
• Experience working directly with clients and senior technical stakeholders
• Ability to understand technical documentation and translate requirements into actionable development work
• Strong risk, dependency, and issue management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate effectively in an evolving project environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with Fortran, Julia, or C++
• Experience with AI/ML, LLMs, or software-agent development
• Experience working on API-heavy or distributed software projects
• Experience in Healthcare, scientific computing, engineering, fintech, or other technically complex domains
• Experience scaling software development teams from a small pilot into a larger delivery organization
• Previous experience working with a Product Owner/client who is closely involved in the technical direction
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, and project-management platforms
