IONOS is involved in large-scale initiatives that support modern technical environments, where managing complex public compliance requirements is crucial. We are now looking for the right person to join our team and ensure smooth project execution. This fixed-term position (2 years, with an option to extend) is at the intersection of technical implementation and relationship management: you will coordinate internal teams while maintaining direct contact with customers, partners, and external service providers.

In this role, you will represent IONOS externally, navigate structured organizational requirements, and keep all essential internal and external stakeholders informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Managing medium-sized programs and complex projects throughout their lifecycle, leading critical initiatives in various business areas, especially at the interface between product management and software development.
• Structuring projects by status, effort, risks, dependencies, business value, and resource needs, and supporting sponsors and idea generators in strategic plans.
• Co-creating and establishing our project management methodology, prioritization logic (business value, effort, urgency, capacity), and the advanced change management process.
• Strategic resource and capacity planning, and support in resolving resource conflicts across departments.
• Ensuring complete transparency in delivery status (time, budget, quality), early escalation of risks, and clear reporting to executive management and stakeholders.
• Aligning stakeholders with different goals in software development, IT, BI, commercial management, sales, finance, networks, and customer care.
• Assisting in the AI automation of PMO workflows with Claude and n8n, and mentoring and coaching other project managers in advanced planning and risk management.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, plus at least 5 years of project management experience in a technical environment, ideally with experience in the public sector or highly regulated projects.
• Knowledge of the specific dynamics of public clients-tendering structures, compliance obligations, institutional decision-making processes-is a significant advantage.
• You naturally build relationships with external stakeholders, communicate confidently at all levels, and represent IONOS sovereignly in formal settings. You prepare complex technical matters understandably for non-technical audiences and assert yourself when necessary on both sides.
• Solid knowledge of traditional and agile frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Scrum); certification is a plus. Proficient use of Jira and Confluence; experience with Claude or n8n is advantageous.
• Strong conflict resolution skills, high adaptability, and the ability to act structured and calmly even under time pressure.
• Fluent German skills are essential for this position, as most communication, reporting, and documentation occur in German.
