About the Position
Join our team as a Senior Underwriter, where you’ll lead critical credit decisions, conduct in-depth financial analysis of merchants, and structure funding offers in a fast-paced fintech environment. With opportunities based in Utah or Virginia, this role is perfect for someone with strong risk assessment skills, experience in merchant cash advance underwriting, and the drive to shape credit strategy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to determine the credit worthiness of a merchant
- Perform risk-based underwriting reviews of applications which includes the analysis of credit reports, bank statements, and various other business documentation in order to determine a merchant’s credibility
- Price and structure funding offers
- Interact with internal sales team
- Conduct underwriting interviews with perspective merchants
Requirements
- 3+ years in underwriting role at merchant cash advance provider
- Experience reviewing bank statements
- Experience reviewing company financials (P&Ls, balance sheets, tax returns)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent risk assessment and risk management skills
- Knowledgeable with credit reporting docs & systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills
