Senior/Lead Java Automation Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive automation specialist with 6–10 years of experience in software testing, including strong hands-on expertise in RestAssured-based API automation, along with leadership in test strategy, automation, and quality assurance processes. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our software products through advanced automation and testing techniques, mentoring junior testers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement test strategies, plans, and processes for complex software systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and scripts using RestAssured.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high-quality releases.
• Drive continuous improvement in QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes, and provide actionable insights.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements where applicable.

Requirements

• Must have

  • 6–10 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation script development using RestAssured.
  • Strong knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java preferred).
  • Experience with API testing tools (preferably: REST Assured), Postman, ReadyAPI, etc.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Git, and Azure DevOps.
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge in Selenium (Java).

• Nice to have

  • ISTQB Advanced Level or equivalent certification.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Airline Domain knowledge is a plus.
