About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and scale cloud-native backend systems for our SaaS platform. You will play a key role in shaping system architecture, improving performance, and delivering robust services that support high-traffic, customer-facing applications.
This role combines hands-on engineering with architectural influence. You will collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and distributed teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using C# and.NET (6+)
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs to support modern frontend applications
- Architect and implement microservices-based systems with a focus on modularity and resilience
- Develop and deploy solutions leveraging AWS cloud services
- Ensure systems are highly available, secure, and performant
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure smooth API integration and performance
- Partner with product and design teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and agile ceremonies
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices
- Implement automated testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end)
- Identify and reduce technical debt, improving long-term system sustainability
- Monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
- Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering (web or SaaS environments)
- Strong proficiency in C#,.NET, ASP.NET Core
- Experience building and maintaining web-based applications and APIs
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architecture
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven systems
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) and ORM tools (e.g., Entity Framework)
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, TeamCity)
- Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to serverless architectures
- Experience supporting backend systems for modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React)
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools
