We are seeking a Service Technician for Laser Metrology to join our team in Jena, Thuringia, DE. You will ensure reliable operation of our SIRD laser-based metrology tool for semiconductor materials.

Responsibilities

• Analyze malfunctions and provide expert advice to our customers on resolving current issues in the areas of optics, electronics/electrical systems, handling, and software
• Ensure that equipment downtime is avoided through preventive maintenance, spare parts inventory management, and system upgrades
• Conduct inventories and inspections of safety-related equipment and document them in accordance with applicable standards
• Build a knowledge database for recurring service cases and keep it continuously up to date
• Create and maintain technical documentation (e.g., service reports, equipment and service documentation)
• Support our service engineers worldwide with remote support when needed
• Conduct application and operator training and assist our customers in the efficient and safe use of their equipment

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or physics, or completed apprenticeship as a state-certified technician
• Alternatively, comparable qualification and at least 3 years of professional experience in technical field service as well as in the maintenance of technical systems
• Knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, optics, laser technology, measurement technology, and software diagnostics is a plus
• Confident in using digital applications (service apps, ticketing, and ERP systems)
• Good German and English language skills
• Commitment, creativity, and flexibility
• Customer-oriented, independent, and meticulous work approach
• Valid Class B driver’s license
• Willingness to travel and a confident, professional demeanor in an international customer and partner environment
