About the Position
Shelter and Settlement Officer
We are seeking a Shelter and Settlement Officer to join our team in Aleppo and Idlib, Syria, to work on shelter and WASH projects.

Responsibilities
- Assessing schools, collective shelters, and unfinished buildings in the Governorate and countryside of the governorate.
- Supervise, monitor, and coordinate the work of DRC construction companies according to TL instruction.
- Preparing and revising draft of Bill of Quantities.
- Regular reporting on rehabilitation works to TL.
- Quality control on material and work executed by contractors.
- Verifying work status for processing payments.
- Identification of buildings for rehabilitation according to TL instruction.
- Supervise and monitor the distribution of kits, equipment, and furniture according to TL instructions.
- Submit TL accurate material prices from the market on a monthly basis.
- Represented DRC at the sub-national level when TLs were unavailable.
- Any other task as requested by the direct manager and project manager.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ working experience in monitoring construction works if engineering university degree.
- Minimum 4 years’ working experience in monitoring construction works if engineering institution.
- Preparing Bill of Quantities.
- Verifying construction material qualities.
- Experience with following standard procedures and guidelines for shelter and WASH projects.
- Advances in renewable/durable power projects for shelter, WASH Irrigation, productive community projects.

Education
- Engineering university degree (Civil, Architecture, Mechanical, or Electrical).
Languages
- Arabic
- Good English

- Location: Aleppo, and Idlib with frequent field trips to DRC Field Locations
- Expected Start date: ASAP
