Shift Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Shift Engineer for our Baggage Handling System operations in Singapore. Ensure smooth operation, monitor performance, and resolve faults promptly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth and uninterrupted operation of systems during assigned shifts.
• Monitor system performance and log critical incidents.
• Communicate promptly with the Customer and Management teams.
• Ensure timely fault resolution and support preventive maintenance activities.
• Oversee Control Room Senior and Technical Officers.
• Dispatch technicians promptly to attend to faults.
• Ensure prompt diversion of baggage during breakdowns.
• Evacuate bags promptly if the baggage flow is blocked.
• Monitor the system for late baggage and potential shortshipped items.
• Provide prompt information to CP Management/client on system-related faults.
• Work closely with CP Management on system-related problems.
• Ensure proper dispatch of personnel for prompt breakdown recovery.
• Update operations log books and record all occurrences.
• Complete the PM Schedule as scheduled.
• Manage personal and general tools.
• Ensure personal discipline of all staff in the team.
• Conduct routine checks as scheduled.
• Perform daily system start-up checks.
• Provide support to CP Management during system troubleshooting/updates.
• Perform scheduled system switchovers/reboots of the servers.
• Provide technical and procedural support to technicians.
• Acquire in-depth knowledge of all equipment in the Baggage Handling System.
• Train and monitor the performance of technicians.
• Handle removal and installation procedures for BHS equipment/components.
• Ensure all shift personnel adhere to safety working in the airport.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years experience in the installation and maintenance of conveyors, heavy machinery, plant, and equipment.
• Experience in Material Handling System will be an additional advantage.
• Must be a team player who is quick to learn.
• Able to work on rotating shifts.
