About the Position
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with deep observability expertise and Google Cloud Platform monitoring fundamentals to join our team in Bucharest, Romania. This role is a FULL_TIME position for a Senior professional.
Responsibilities
- Deep Observability Expertise: Ideally with New Relic APM, Infrastructure, Logs, Synthetics, NRQL, full-stack tracing.
- Google Cloud Platform Monitoring Fundamentals: New Relic integration with GCP, native GCP monitoring, GCP resource hierarchy, IAM, networking.
- Reliability Engineering Mindset: Focused on availability, resiliency, automation, observability, and continuous improvement.
- Critical User Journeys (CUJs): Ability to understand, define, and monitor effectively, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical implementation.
- Application Support Dashboards: Proficiency in building clear, intuitive, and actionable dashboards for both technical and business stakeholders.
- SLI/SLO Concepts: Knowledge of production stability best practices.
- Production Support: Strong experience in L2/L3 Production Support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident resolution, and problem management.
- Microservices Architecture: Understanding of APIs and application integration patterns.
- Monitoring and Observability Tools: Experience with tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Geneos, or similar solutions.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, and deployment automation.
- GitHub: Proficiency for version control and collaborative development.
- Cloud-native Development: Familiarity with development and deployment practices on GCP.
- Analytical and Problem-solving Skills: Ability to work under pressure in production environments.
- Oracle Databases: Experience with SQL.
- Middleware and Messaging Technologies: Understanding of IBM MQ, JMS, Kafka, Solace.
- Agile Delivery Teams: Experience working within Agile delivery teams and collaborating effectively in virtual and cross-functional teams.
Requirements

Must Have:
- Deep Observability Expertise
- Google Cloud Platform Monitoring Fundamentals
- Reliability Engineering mindset
- Ability to understand, define, and monitor Critical User Journeys (CUJs)
- Proficiency in building clear, intuitive, and actionable application support dashboards
- Knowledge of SLI/SLO concepts and production stability best practices
- Strong experience in L2/L3 Production Support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident resolution, and problem management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supporting and maintaining mission-critical applications and platforms (99.9% uptime), preferably in a financial or banking environment
- Understanding of Microservices architecture, APIs, and application integration patterns
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Geneos, or similar solutions
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Proficiency with GitHub for version control and collaborative development
- Familiarity with cloud-native development and deployment practices on GCP
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in production environments
- Experience working with Oracle Databases and SQL
- Understanding of middleware and messaging technologies (IBM MQ, JMS, Kafka, Solace is an advantage)
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams and collaborating effectively in virtual and cross-functional teams
