Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Site Reliability Engineer II. In this role, you will perform site reliability engineering duties to ensure application and network performance, reliability, and security for users of our platforms. You will deploy and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems, analyze and improve the security, stability, speed, and capacity of our network, automate new cloud service deployments, and monitor and troubleshoot cloud services to ensure SLA is met and adequate capacity is available. Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform site reliability engineering duties to ensure application and network performance, reliability, and security.
• Deploy and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems.
• Analyze and improve the security, stability, speed, and capacity of our network.
• Automate new cloud service deployments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud services to ensure SLA is met and adequate capacity is available.
• Analyze logs and events from the cloud service and provide recommendations to ensure smooth service operation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Information Technology, Information Systems, or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
• Must have experience in:
  • Production support including interpreting system logs and collecting diagnostic data.
  • Root cause analysis.
  • Reviewing and implementing security vulnerability fixes.
  • CI/CD pipelines.
  • Agile.
  • IaC.
  • Ansible.
  • Terraform.
  • Salt.
  • Python.

• Competitive salary ranging from $138,237 to $171,000 per year.
