About the Position
We are seeking a Senior SL3 Support Engineer with strong experience in Payments domain and UNIX/Linux environments to join our team in Kuala Lumpur.
Responsibilities
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for application defects and implement effective remediation solutions.
- Prioritize defects based on severity and business impact; support fixes aligned with release cycles.
- Provide production support across open systems and legacy AS400 environments.
- Develop and support code changes across multiple technologies; assist in SIT, UAT, and production deployments.
- Ensure production stability through proper risk and impact assessments before implementation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application issues across UNIX-based systems, middleware, and batch environments.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders on incidents, issues, and resolution status.
- Collaborate with L2 teams to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and define recovery solutions.
- Track defect resolution and meet defined SLAs/KPIs.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for application changes, releases, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing production learnings and implementing preventive fixes.
Requirements

Must have
- Strong experience in Payments domain – especially remittances, SWIFT, RTGS, GIRO, or similar payment systems.
- Hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux environments and Shell scripting.
- Working knowledge of Basic Java for application support and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience with Oracle / SQL for querying and data analysis.
- Minimum 4+ years of production support experience across open systems/platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across distributed systems.
- Good understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL).
- Strong communication skills with ability to work with users, vendors, and business stakeholders.

- Exposure to AS400 (RPG/CL/COBOL400) is beneficial.
- Exposure to hybrid environments (mainframe + open systems).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and release management practices.
