We are looking for a Snowflake Architect/Lead who wants to be part of Tieto Tech Consulting. You will join a team focused on building modern cloud-based data platforms for leading banking and financial services organizations. The team leverages Snowflake, Azure, Data Build Tool (dbt), and AI-driven capabilities to deliver scalable, governed, and business-aligned data solutions.

When joining Tieto Tech Consulting as a Senior Data Modeler, you join a skilled team of Data Architects, Data Engineers, Analytics Consultants, and Cloud Specialists where you will continue to learn and collaborate on enterprise-scale data transformation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models supporting data processing, analytics, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the design and implementation of logical, physical, and canonical data models within Snowflake.
  • Architect data models across bronze, silver, and gold layers following Medallion Architecture principles.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, engineers, and analysts to translate business requirements into scalable data structures.
  • Define and maintain source-to-target mappings and transformation rules for data integration initiatives.
  • Conduct data profiling, data discovery, and gap analysis across source and target systems.
  • Drive data model governance, standards, documentation, version control, and review processes.
  • Design models supporting historical data retention, time-travel reporting, and auditability requirements.
  • Develop data models that support both operational and analytical reporting workloads.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, data quality, security, and regulatory standards.
  • Support modernization initiatives utilizing Snowflake Cortex and AI-driven data capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership and best practices for enterprise data modeling and cloud data warehouse design.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in Data Modeling, Data Architecture, or Data Engineering roles.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing data models in Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms.
  • Strong experience with modern cloud data platforms on Azure.
  • Deep understanding of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
  • Experience with Data Build Tool (dbt) and modern ELT frameworks.
  • Expertise in data modeling methodologies including:
    • Third Normal Form (3NF)
    • Dimensional Modeling
    • Data Vault Modeling
    • Star and Snowflake Schemas
  • Strong experience with enterprise data modeling tools such as Erwin or similar.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience handling semi-structured data such as JSON and XML.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Purview.
  • Experience in Banking and Financial Services domain data models.
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex capabilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
