This position will be responsible for defining and driving the software architecture for Harman’s Augmented Reality solutions within the Intelligent Cockpit organization. The role includes leading architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and quality of software platforms, and collaborating closely with global engineering teams and stakeholders. We are looking for a passionate technology leader with strong expertise in software architecture, modern C++ development, Linux-based systems, and automotive software development who is excited to shape the future of AR experiences.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive system and software architecture for SVS and Augmented Reality products and platforms.
- Ensure architectural alignment across software components, system requirements, hardware constraints, and customer needs.
- Lead architectural design activities, ensuring alignment of technical solutions with product, customer, and business requirements.
- Align architectural decisions across multiple stakeholders, balancing business goals, customer requirements, technical constraints, and long-term product strategy.
- Drive architecture reviews and provide technical leadership for development teams working with modern C++ on Linux and embedded platforms.
- Establish and promote software engineering best practices, including clean architecture principles, design patterns, code quality standards, and maintainable software design.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to guide implementation, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support critical design decisions.
- Analyze technical risks, system constraints, and hardware/software limitations, providing mitigation strategies and architectural recommendations.
- Define and maintain architectural documentation using UML and related documentation standards.
- Partner with management, customers, product owners, and global engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Support platform adaptation and integration activities across Linux-based and embedded automotive environments.
- Evaluate new technologies, tools, and development approaches to improve software quality, engineering efficiency, and product scalability.
- Interact with Harman suppliers, Augmented Reality domain experts, and customers, both locally and internationally.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in modern C++ (C++14 or newer) software development on Linux platforms, including experience working on complex software systems.
- 2+ years of experience in software architecture, technical leadership, or senior technical roles involving architectural decision-making.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns (GoF), SOLID principles, and clean architecture concepts.
- Hands-on experience with STL, Boost libraries, algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques.
- Solid knowledge of Linux and Embedded Linux environments, including understanding of hardware and software constraints on ARM-based platforms.
- Experience with software design and architectural documentation using UML.
- Practical experience with Git, CMake, and debugging tools such as GDB.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess technical risks and define effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with management, customers, product owners, and global engineering teams.

Salary
L 337,500 - L 495,000
The above represents the annual gross base salary range for this role.
