Software Architect – Telco Protocols and Data Processing

About the Position

We are seeking a Software Architect for Telco Protocols and Data Processing to lead technical direction and design in mobile telecommunications.

Responsibilities

Architecture Leadership

• Define the strategic architecture and technical roadmap for protocol decoding, data correlation, and enrichment platforms.
• Establish architectural principles, standards, and best practices across related products.
• Drive technology selection and major design decisions, balancing scalability, maintainability, performance, and cost.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and domain experts to align technical direction with business objectives.
• Mentor development teams and provide technical leadership on complex architectural challenges.
• Drive alignment of architecture decisions across products, teams, and technology domains to maximize platform consistency and reuse.

Mobile Core Network Protocol Architecture

• Evolve architectural approaches for supporting standardized diagnostic and measurement data from protocols like Diameter, GTPv1/v2, 5G Service-Based Interfaces (SBI), IMS/VoLTE/VoNR signaling, CUPS, access network interfaces, and future 3GPP-defined protocols.
• Ensure decoded measurement data is accurately translated into common data models used across products and analytics platforms.
• Maintain backward compatibility, scalability, and long-term maintainability of decoder solutions.

Data Refinement

• Define the data models, dimensions, and contextual information required to transform raw measurements into curated datasets.
• Establish rules for data enrichment and correlation.

Requirements

Required

Mobile Core Network Expertise

• Strong understanding of mobile telecommunications.
• Strong understanding of 4G and 5G Core network architectures.
• Expertise in signaling and transport protocols including Diameter, GTP, HTTP/2-based SBI interfaces, and related 3GPP standards.
• Experience with IMS, VoLTE, and VoNR ecosystems.
• Understanding of network slicing, CUPS, and cloud-native core architectures.

Software Architecture Expertise

• Strong software engineering background, including distributed and data-intensive systems.
• Deep understanding of relevant 3GPP standards and their evolution across 4G and 5G networks.
• C++ experience

Preferred

• Experience with large-scale data processing and analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of AI/ML data preparation and feature engineering.
• Understanding of data lineage, governance, and data quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud-native and distributed system architectures.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and performance modeling techniques.
