Software Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Middle Software Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our team in Guadalajara, Mexico. The role involves diagnosing, triaging, and resolving high-volume support requests for our live production product, Hiring Events. This role is critical in maintaining client satisfaction and ensuring the smooth operation of ongoing hiring events.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve production issues, especially related to ongoing hiring events.
• Work closely with client-facing teams to address and triage support tickets.
• Ensure timely resolution of issues to meet established SLAs.
• Monitor production systems; respond swiftly to alerts or degradation in performance.
• Support architecture changes and system integrations that may impact hiring events.
• Maintain and update event logic in response to changes in dependencies and systems.

Requirements

Must Have:

• 3-5 years of experience with Java/Springboot (Event Management Backend, Lobby Backend) (Primary).
• Experience with Django/Python (Event Management Backend, Lobby Backend) (Secondary).
• Experience with React (Event Management Frontend, Lobby Frontend, IRL Frontend, Jobseeker Frontend).
• Experience with Kafka (Event Management Backend).
• Experience with GraphQL (Event Management Backend, Lobby Backend).
• Experience with SQL or MongoDB (Event Management Backend, Lobby Backend).
• Build and deployment experience.
• Senior-level engineer capable of ramping up quickly and assuming ownership over multiple projects. High level of ownership and autonomy.
• Experience with at least one of the following: Dagster, Data Lakes, or Amazon Athena.

Nice to Have:

• Product Manager experience working with GTM teams and engineers to help with prioritization.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools: Claude, Cursor, Windsurf.
• Ability to work independently and be autonomous.
• Initiative in merging and deploying code without requiring "hand holding".
• Clear & Concise communication. Handling Ambiguity. Prioritization and strategic thinking. Using data to troubleshoot production issues.
