Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in.NET, WPF, WinForms, ASP.NET, ETL, Kafka, GitLab, CI/CD, PowerShell, T-SQL, and Windows Server administration to join our team in Zurich, Switzerland.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain a software solution in the covered bonds area (lending).
  • Automation solutions for deployment, configuration, and management of applications and infrastructure.
  • Provide 3rd level support for application and infrastructure incidents, troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize business disruption.
  • Collaborate with engineers, developers, product managers, designers, testers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, coordinate deployments, and deliver new features.
  • Plan and execute major software releases in sensitive and regulated environments.
  • Manage and review SQL queries, perform data analysis, and generate reports and statistics for stakeholders.
  • Participate in projects, roadmap planning, and the integration of new technologies and applications.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements related to deployment and system management.
  • Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities in applications, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
  • Respond promptly to critical vulnerabilities, coordinating immediate mitigation actions to protect systems and data.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements relevant to the technology landscape.
  • Utilize monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, BigPanda, Splunk) to track system health, performance, and deployment activities.

Requirements

  • Must have -.NET (including .NET Framework on Windows and modern .NET)
    • WPF and WinForms for client applications
    • ASP.NET for vendor/integration solutions
    • ETL processes and Kafka-based interfaces, including managing dependencies
    • GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
    • PowerShell scripting for automation
    • T-SQL (MS SQL), including debugging complex queries and running T-SQL processes
    • Windows Server administration (nice to have)
    • Strong out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to resolve problems even without test data, using abstraction and projection of data
    • AI-Augmented development experience
  • Nice to have
    • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their deployment models.
    • Certification in Microsoft technologies or cloud practices.
    • Clear and proactive communication about progress and updates
    • Ability to propose alternatives so the business can make ad hoc decisions
    • English (German a plus)
