Job description
Software Engineer 3, Atlas Growth 3
Dublin, Ireland
About the Position
Atlas Growth is a cloud engineering group dedicated to guiding customers through their app development journey. Our team focuses on cluster configuration, data modeling, load testing, and running production workloads at scale. We use an in-house experiments platform to validate features quickly, ensuring only impactful work is released. Our engineers work in cross-functional "squads" with product, design, analytics, and research teams, focusing on a single metric such as retention. Our engineering team is part of the larger Atlas Core Engineering organization, building foundational elements of MongoDB’s developer data platform.
Atlas Growth 3 builds customer-facing features in Atlas and collaborates with other Growth engineering teams. Recent projects include an AI Chatbot for cluster creation, a recommendation system for better database performance, and a pricing page designed to optimize conversion rates.
We are looking for candidates based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.
Responsibilities
- Contribute readable and well-tested code to ongoing projects
- Collaborate closely with product and design partners to implement and iterate on new customer-facing features
- Write scope and technical spec documents for new projects assigned by your manager. Lead small working groups of two or three engineers for these projects
- Participate actively and constructively in code and document reviews
- Help product management identify improvements for features you own and drive them to completion
- Triage incoming support requests and alerts for products you own, and participate in group-wide on-call rotation once onboarded
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, with fluency in TypeScript/JavaScript, and experience with a modern framework (e.g. React)
- Proficiency in Java, Go, C++/C, or a similar compiled language is a plus
- Experience writing database queries, either document-based or relational
- Experience writing and reviewing technical specs, and leading small projects
- Interest in A/B testing or product design
