As a Software Engineer, Backend, you’ll primarily be developing and maintaining features for our Driver app and its relevant APIs. In this role, you will be the backbone to every product; optimizing new and existing algorithms that make our operations run smoothly. You will design, implement, and launch scalable systems to build new products, features, and services as well as improve existing ones. As Lalamove continues its rapid expansion, our products must be able to support the growth coming from our users, drivers, and orders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable systems for our Driver app and APIs
• Optimize new and existing algorithms to ensure smooth operations
• Design, implement, and launch scalable systems for new products, features, and services
• Improve existing systems to support rapid company growth

Requirements

• 2+ years hand-on experience in Backend development (Preferably in Java)
• University graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
• Sound knowledge of middlewares such as Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka, RabbitMQ
• Solid experience in building backend microservices and APIs
• Experience in MySQL
• Experience/exposure to cloud services (AWS)
• Flexible, grow, and learn quickly in a startup environment
• Good team player, self-motivated, and able to work independently
• Good communication skills in written and spoken English
