The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer, Front End Developer to support the Space Mission Systems (SMS) Rapid Space Capabilities (RSC) portfolio, focused on the Rocky program in Albuquerque, NM or El Segundo, CA.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Leads the design, development, and analyses of user interfaces of software systems
- Partners with appropriate stakeholders to oversee translation of software requirements and models that meet customer, operational, and performance requirements
- Leads completion of software system-level analyses to identify risk, issues, and opportunities
- Leads software engineers to successfully complete code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standards
- Leads review of product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards
- Researches and oversees implementation of current and emerging software technologies, tools, and frameworks
Requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 3+ years’ experience with Front End software languages, frameworks, and libraries (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript, REACT, and API integration, etc.)
- Experience in foundational Computer Science knowledge and object-oriented design and software patterns

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience
- An Active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance
- Experience developing Frontend user interfaces using Astro UX
- Experience with Software Engineering principles including, but not limited to, Software Configuration Management, Software Architecture and Design, and Software Life Cycle Management
- Experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python, JS frameworks (REACT, jQuery UI, Open Layers, etc.), Spring Framework, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, REST, and OpenAPI
- Experience using dependency management and automation services (e.g. Ivy, Maven, Gradle, Git, Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience using cloud-based infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Familiarity with practices such as test-driven development (TDD), agile software development, DevSecOps, and CI/CD management
- Experience with front end software for one or more of the following: control systems, embedded FPGA, low latency deterministic, operator interfaces, and/or control gimbals, ground antennas, optical sensors
